If you are looking to use your fleece blanket during winter or in a cold environment then you would select heavier weighted fleece fabric. You want to make sure your fleece fabric is long enough for its intended purpose. If you are going to use the fleece blanket on your bed, then you want to make sure you have 10 to 12 inches of overlap on each of the sides so the fleece blanket can easily be tucked into the sides of the bed. Once you have your fabric cut to size, then you can either fold over about an inch on all sides and then stitch them together for appearance purposes or if you prefer you can leave them, as is.
