No sew fleece blankets, so what are they exactly?
Well, no sew fleece blankets are essentially just two fleece blankets that are tied together to create one double insulated fleece blanket. Obviously, the good thing about them is that no sewing is required at all. These no sew fleece blankets make a great idea for a fun family craft day as everyone from kids to adults can help make one.
Materials you will need for your no sew fleece blankets :
You will need fleece Fabric at least 40 inches or wider (most are 54 inches)
Baby or Toddler size 1 to 1 1/2 yards
Child size 1 3/4 yards
Teen/Adult size 2 yards
Of course, you will need to double these measurements, as you need two pieces of fleece fabric to make them no sew fleece blanket to. In addition, if you their family members who are taller than average then you can make adjustments accordingly.
As I have mentioned, you will need two pieces of fleece fabric. These two pieces can be the same colour, different patterns, patterns on one side and none on the other, it really is up to you.
A pair of very sharp scissors.
A tape measure or a ruler.
A 4x4 inch piece of paper
To construct your no sew fleece blankets
Take your two pieces of fleece and plays one on top of the other making sure the edges up so that they are even . Keep in mind that one side is going to be the top of your blanket and the other side is going to be the bottom.
Trim off any excess material that may be around the edges. Try and make sure you cut in a straight line.
Now, take your 4x4 inch piece of paper and lay it on the corner of your fleece blanket. Now cut out the corner through both layers, and then proceed to do this on all four corners.
Now you're ready to cut your fringes. Cut 4 inch slices from outside inwards's at intervals of an inch apart. Use your ruler or tape measure, if you are unsure of of any measurements.
While your fringes don't need to be 1 inch apart, exactly. You should try to keep the in the same size. Make sure it you cut out these 1 inch intervals on all four sides.
Once you have finished all your cutting, we can then proceed to tie over hand knots using the fringes from each fleece. Make sure of victory only tie every other fringe around the entire blanket.
Once you have done this, then flip the whole blanket over and proceed to tie the remaining knots until every fringe has been tied.
And there we have it, you have now just finished your no sew fleece blanket
