The way we used to wash the pure woolen blankets is:
1) to dissolve the neutral soap flakes in hot water;
2) to add one table-spoon of borax to the soap dissolved water;
3) wait until the temperature of the soaped water drops to 60 degree then soak the blankets into the water for about 3-4 hours.
Use your hands to gently rub the heavily polluted areas. If difficult to clean the soiled, mix the soaped water with two tablespoons of turpentine to wash. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry naturally. Before the blanket is completely dried, iron the blanket with a layer over it using a warm iron to make it flat. It will be Ok until the blanket is dried.
