The blankets are available to those in need through the Colchester Food Bank.
The donation was great news to one of the program's creators. "The blanket program is not just run in the winter, it's going all year-round because there is a need," said Catherine Atkinson. ???Everyday we should have an awareness of the needs around us.
The program, now entering its 10th year, uses all the material that comes in. If an item is deemed to tattered to be sent out it goes to the SPCA. "There,s no waste...The SPCA can use them for the animals," Atkinson said. "It's nothing but a win-win." - Truro Daily News
