Blanket is a common bedding stuff, used in beds, like quilts do, to keep body warm, relatively thinner. It is made of animal fibers (wool, Alpaca, bison down, mohair, cashmere wool, llamas wool, camel hair, Angora rabbit hair, yak hair) or, chemical fibers (acrylic fiber, viscose fiber), and some, mixture of both, chemical and animal fibers.
Some blankets are of double-sided lint, or plush, longer ones, used to keep body warm while sleeping. They can also used as bedspread, tapestry, or wall carpets for decoration,. There are three main types of blankets, namely, pure wool blanket, blended yarn blanket, and chemical fiber blanket. According to the way of weaving, there are organic weaving, tufted weaving, warp knitting, needling, loop bonding etc. Patterns on the blanket can be categorized into jacquard weave, textile printing, shads, two-tone suit, stripes, checks etc. The style on the blanket can be summarized as suede, upright or raised pile, nap down, grounder, water wave mark.
Blankets have higher elasticity and better in keeping warm, of more endurable texture. Blankets are mostly used in bed to preserve body heat, as bed spread, or tapestry for decorative purposes. They also have different appearances, some with rich curly suede surface, while others with stand firm floss with the touch of velvet on upright pile, still many other styles such as long villus in the same direction, caracule grounder shaped, and irregular rippled splay mark. There are also countless patterns to go with various colors, with geometrical patterns, flowering plants, landscapes, or animals. The edges of blankets are usually fringed to make it more lasting and appealing.
