Feeling a little chilly? Homemade blankets can really warm you up. Here's all you need to make that perfect cozy comforter.
Steps
1. Obtain the items you need in the "Things You'll Need" section below.
2. Lay the fabric on top of each other and smooth them out. Line them up and pin them together.
3. Put a line of masking tape on each side about 4 inches off of each side. Sew, keeping the edge of your foot lined up with the side of the masking tape.
4. Cut strips from the edge to within 1/4 inch of the seam in each side so that it is fringed.
5. Take off the masking tape and the pins. Wash the blankets.
6. Show it to your family and friends.
Tips
Take your time; don't rush.
To prevent shifting, sew a couple of straight seams down the middle of the blankets.
Instead of sewing the extra seams you can tie your blankets with yarn or embroidery floss by pulling one end through both layers of the blanket and simply tying a square knot. Do this in several places and trim to desired length.
Warnings
Be careful with scissors and pins!
