In its early years , baseball cap was not accepted as a daily adornment as part of our clothing, but only as part of the gear of players in the game. In 1839, the first baseball game was held in the town Gumpas, of New York State. In 1860, the game gained momentum by going professional in the United States. In 1871, the "National Organization of Professional Baseball Players" was founded, which changed its name to "American League" in 1876. In 1881, another national professional baseball organization came into being, and later, became the "National Association of Professional Baseball". In 1884, the first championship between these two organizations took place, with the name of "World Baseball Championship."
In 1910 when U.S. President William Howard Taft officially announced the inauguration of baseball as the "National Sport" of the United Sates. Baseball cap became a standard part of the sports wear for all teams, first being worn only in sunny weather to shelter of the strong sun, and later, a must item in rain or shine. In 1873, the sport was introduced to Japan from the United States. In Japanese, the sports turned professional in 1934. Baseball cap also gained the same recognition in Japan since then. After World War II¡ê?baseball spread like wildfire to many European countries.
Now, this sport is played in over 100 countries on five continents. Baseball caps are popular worldwide, but only being worn by baseball players during competitions. It has not yet turned a daily item in clothing for most people, but only as a team statement for players of the game.
